“My energy is a gift not a given”
Your energy is the gift you give gladly to those who fuel your heart and soul.
But at times there are those who only take, sharing little of their own.
They don’t wait for you to offer, they assume that you ‘don’t mind’. They use your energy to fuel their roles no matter how much you need for your daily grind. They spend it carelessly, on impressing ‘other people’. Maintaining acts, covering cracks, leaving you increasingly more feeble. Then they wonder why one day you arrive wearily to see them empty-handed. A bad party guest they will remark, you will be publicly reprimanded. But once at home, you reach inside your pocket and you find. That glowing ember is just for you
